Text copied from PDFs, emails, websites and spreadsheets often arrives with double spaces, stray blank lines and odd line breaks. Choose the fixes you want and get tidy text to copy back.

How to use

  1. Paste your text into the Before box.
  2. Tick the fixes you want.
  3. Copy the cleaned text from the After box.

Example

Text pasted from a PDF with “Hello world” and three blank lines between paragraphs becomes “Hello world” with paragraphs separated by single lines when duplicate spaces and empty lines are removed.

Good to know

  • “Normalise line breaks” converts Windows (CRLF) and old Mac (CR) line endings to a single standard, which avoids strange spacing in some editors.
  • Nothing is sent anywhere — cleaning happens in your browser.

Frequently asked questions

Will it change my words?

No. The cleaner only changes spaces, tabs and line breaks, plus duplicate lines if you choose that option.

How do I remove all line breaks?

Use the Remove Duplicate Lines or Text Case tools for list work; to join everything into one paragraph, remove empty lines here, then replace remaining line breaks in your editor.

Is there a size limit?

It comfortably handles long documents — hundreds of thousands of characters on most devices.
