Two ways to compress

Lossless clean-up rebuilds the file structure and removes waste without changing how anything looks, so text stays selectable. Savings vary from nothing to a lot, depending on how the PDF was made.

Scan mode renders each page to an optimised JPEG at a chosen resolution. It shrinks scanned documents dramatically, but the text becomes part of the image. It's ideal for scans, photos of documents and application forms.

  • For very long documents, splitting into parts is often better than heavy compression.

Frequently asked questions

Is my PDF uploaded to a server?

No. ZIYNU's PDF tools run in your browser using your device's processor. The file is opened locally and the result is created on your device, so documents such as CNIC scans, degrees and contracts never leave it.

Which level should I choose?

Balanced works for most documents. Choose Strong for the smallest file when quality matters less, and Light for documents with fine detail.

Why didn't my PDF get smaller?

Text-only PDFs are often already compact. If lossless clean-up can't help, try Maximum compression — though for text documents that may not save much either.

Why won't my password-protected PDF work?

Encrypted PDFs can be read but not changed without removing the protection. Open the file in the software that created it, remove the password or restrictions, save it, and try again.
