PDF DPI Checker

Check image resolution before printing.

Before sending a PDF to print, check whether its images have enough resolution. The DPI Checker lists every image with its pixel size, printed size and effective DPI.

How to use

  1. Choose a PDF.
  2. Review the counts of Good, Acceptable and Low images.
  3. Check the table to see which pages need better images.

What “effective DPI” means

An image's DPI depends on how large it's printed. A 1200-pixel-wide photo printed 4 inches wide has 300 DPI; the same photo stretched to 8 inches has only 150. ZIYNU calculates this from the size each image is actually drawn at. 300 DPI or more is Good for professional print, 150–299 is Acceptable for office printing, and below 150 is Low.

Frequently asked questions

Is my PDF uploaded to a server?

No. ZIYNU's PDF tools run in your browser using your device's processor. The file is opened locally and the result is created on your device, so documents such as CNIC scans, degrees and contracts never leave it.

Does DPI matter for screens?

Much less. For viewing on screen, 96–150 DPI is plenty.

Can I increase DPI here?

No tool can add real detail. Replace low-resolution images with the originals and export again.

Why won't my password-protected PDF work?

Encrypted PDFs can be read but not changed without removing the protection. Open the file in the software that created it, remove the password or restrictions, save it, and try again.
